Coombabah State High School is located on the Gold Coast in Queensland. It has 1,000+ enrolments and encompasses Years 8-12. The Student Support Services consist of a guidance counsellor, industry liaison officer, school nurse, youth support worker and an ATSI aide.
Support Services not only include a comprehensive range of guidance counselling but also support student health, complement already existing pastoral care processes incorporating year-level coordinators and whole school management procedures. The Support and Enrichment Team caters for students experiencing difficulty with mainstream educational requirements and a Special Education Unit also exists to support students with speech, language and physical impairment. Further services include a coordinated approach to vocational education, including the adoption of practices leading to students accepting school-based traineeships and apprenticeships.
